I need new shocks and I can't justify the money to put Bilsteins back on. They just die too fast. Too much money for one season of wheeling. Checking things out at the meeting last week there's some crazy expensive stuff out there. I thinking of just buying some cheap shocks. Maybe some Procomps or something. I'm looking for something stiff (real stiff). Anybody running something cheap? Durability isn't a huge issue, I don't think they can be worse that the Bilsteins.

What length shocks do you need? I might have some New Bilstien shocks for really cheap for just you "Free" I have some 15 1/2 collapsed and 18 1/2 collapsed shocks just sitting around.

Anybody know the secret to Bilstein product numbers? The long shocks look good the can is about 1/4" longer - I figure that should be fine. I was able to look up the valving on the front shocks and they're really soft. My old shocks are 255/70, the short ones are 170/60. The long shocks say they're for the rear on and f250/350. I assume that since that's a heavy truck they're stiff shocks and I should be fine. They're F4-BE5-C336-H0 - 5100 series. Any thoughts?

RE warramtied all my bushings and 4-Wheel Parts installed them for free, so my JK has all new bushings too! We'll see how long they last however...
Again, 4-Wheel parts is a great shop!

RE makes a decent product for the mild wheeler, but I am way beyond their capabilities and market items. Their suspension components just don't hold up to what i do. If your having problems with the RE joints and don't want a heim joint which you don't unless you have triangulated your arms and got rid of your track bar, I would go with a currie Johnny Joint. You get the best of both worlds.
