Pretty much every lower end winch is made at the same factory. Personally, I currently run an X-Dyna. I was able to get a 2-speed winch for the same price as a single speed from other brands. It is a 3000/9000 lb winch and came with winch rope and a fair lead. Now a days you'll be fine with any brand. Previously I ran a 1400 warn winch and it failed. And warn would not warranty it, thereby making up my mind to never deal with them again.

How much is the X Dyna winch?
I don't know much about the Engo Winch. I had a Superwinch 8500 for 4 years and it never let me down. Here's the new version of it. refRID=07505CXSCVJ03QZNF33C
I plan to buy the Superwinch TS 9500 for my JK. It runs about $350.
A few things to think about for winches is line speed and pull rating. They say to have enough pull rating for your vehicle weight plus half. So 1.5 x vehicle weight at a minimum. As for line speed, the more you pay the faster. The more weight you pull the slower. Line speed has not ever been a concern to me due to the fact I'm not competing on the trail.
Um...what?

Thank you for the input. I'll check out the Superwinch. I got side-tracked-I started doing the rear main seal on my Jeep this evening. The alternator went out (original equipment, I'm sure). Once I got to working on that, I replaced the oil-filter adapter seals because they were leaking and then I just said screw it and decided to take on the rear main seal because it was leaking. I've never been quite so deep into an engine before on my own. I know it's just a couple of seals, but for me it's rocket surgery.
