I know a couple of you guys run or ran the Extreme Air right? Still happy? Anything you'd do different? Still looks like about the best 100% duty cycle compressor out there.

I'm considering setting it up in a fairly portable fashion like this one at a far lower price.

Maybe I should just change the title to something along the lines of 12V compressors. Of course then John and Rob would tell me that the York is the best.
Anyone ever seen/used one of these?

Shoot...I just sold one. I wish you had said something sooner! It would have looked really cool mounted on the hood too!
Too funny...I was kidding of course.
Putting a York in a TJ is a no-brainer. There are parts readily available, pretty easy to install, and outperforms most all other options. It is a little tougher on other vehicles though and I understand that. In that cas, a 12volt system seems to make sense, especially if you are going to run air lockers. If not, you can look into C02, but they can be a pain in the butt to keep filled up and always run low at the worst times.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

This is what I've been using. Works GREAT!!

My plan is to put in a tank, pressure switches, and external air chucks. There is a neat little spot at the passenger rear quarter where this size compressor will fit out of the way.
My goal is for airing up tires and having a storage tank for the ARBs I'll eventually be putting on. I don't think the duty cycle would handle using for tools, at least not over a long period of time.

I had one of their MV50 models for a while. While it was cheap, and worked decent for a while, it didn't last as long as I thought it should have. I'm looking for something that's going to last a while.
This actually has a larger motor and dual compressor than the MV50.
I've filled the tires on my rig and may be a few others on any given outing without slowing down. Metal air connections do get HOT though, but that's friction.

I didn't sell my York stuff for enough to cover the magnum. 😀

BUT it's the same manufacturer. I'd expect it to put out more air I'm just not convinced it would last. Of course I know the MV50s are very popular so maybe I was just too mean to mine. 😥

MIght be the case. At this stage of the game, for what I need and the places I'll be going, it should do fine. If the time comes when I need a higher duty cycle or more volume, i can always go larger. Either way, I'll have everything plumbed and wired correctly.
Speaking of plumbing, what is a good size tank to use? My experience with air tanks has always been in shops. The pressure I know will be dictated by the needs of the ARBs and pressure switches will maintain that.
