PG&E report as follows:

"The reservoir is filling, current draft is around 33 cfs down Fordyce Creek. Fordyce is not expected to fully fill. Water is just starting to reach the check structure or upper spillway. We have an operator on site during the fill period.

Forecasted flows can change based on weather and power demand and are not set in stone. Jeepers should be aware of the high potential for flow changes, water safety and the need to have a contingency plan should flows be increased. It is recommended that Jeepers use the time period slated for the Sierra Trek in August when flows are stable and not subject to change.

The flows for the remainder of June should remain near 30 to 40 range.

July forecast shows a release around 80 cfs

August 1 through August 11, flows will be reduced for the annual Sierra Jeep run.

September timeframe we plan to perform the recreation flow studies 300, 400 & 500 cfs

If a significant flow change is made in June beyond 50 cfs, PG&E will fly channel and warn third parties located on river of increase in river flows (public safety)."

###

looks like September could have some wild river crossings, if the forest remains open.

Yes. That is correct.

So, what happens if you are just past the water crossing when the helicopter comes by? Run backwards? Scream like a girl? Hit the gas to make the other two crossings ASAP?

after screaming...

If I was between crossing 1 and crossing 2 I'd guess if I was 1/2 way or not, and then decide whether to turn around or not.

If I was past crossing 2 I'd keep moving. Crossing 3 isn't very deep. This all assumes that the top is open to get out via meadow or bowman.

I've never liked comittee crossing.

😯

I dropped into a hole once and water went over the hood and I slid downstream about 2 feet before I was able to back out of it and try again.

Another time once I got across, my tires slipped sidways and I smashed a tail light.

And I don't like the off camber section on top.

A few of us have some vivid memories of just this scenario.

Ya, we got accross crossing #1 with no problem. Crossing #2 got deep/fast. By the time we got to the committee cutoff, it was raging. We decided to go out through Meadow Lake. Well, the snow up there was DEEP. It made for a very long night of winching and digging.

I used to wheel a lot. . .
