So, I was on the phone with RE today discussing an issue with my JK, and I asked the spring rate question we were discussing at the meeting last night. The 3.5" spring carry the highest rate of the RE springs I asked about (3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 7.5). I also asked about the 5.5 springs and TJ vs. LJ. He said they are the same. This could explain the sagging Bill was talking about. The guy I was talking to also mentioned that people often run the 7.5's in the back of LJ's if they carry a lot of tools and have a hard top.

FYI, they are under $200 for a pair.

Thanks to Fred for correcting me with the Tech question of the week!

I still run 3.5 springs in the rear of my TJ with the 40 inch tires and I carry a ton of tools and two dogs back there and have no sagging issues.......If I ran 7.5 springs on my Jeep, I would never be able to get in it 😯

Most of the companies that sell Toyota springs recommend a spring with more lift in the rear than the front for the 4Runners. The tops weigh a ton!

In your case, it is the water bed and velvet curtains you have in the back of yours that weight so much 😯
