I'm considering the Genright SC gas tank to give me a little extra clearance for the rear diff. Since getting my new Rokmen control arms the diff cover is hitting the Kilby skid pretty bad and causing the diff cover to leak. I need to crawl under to see if there's any way to move the factory tank & Kilby skid back a bit, but I'm pretty sure I've moved it back as far as it will go.

Is it best to order direct from Genright or is there a reseller I could order one from?

Some guys have been having bad luck with the Genright tanks. Talk to Brad first. Better call him, he doesn't post much lol

Speed bumps in the office parking lot, really.

Actually, with my RE control arms the diff cover was just brushing the Kilby skid, not enough to be a problem but it was wearing off the paint. The Rokmen arms won't adjust as short as the RE arms so there's more substantial interference. I may just consider hacking off a bit of the new arms so they'll work with the tank/skid I've got, or maybe clearance the Kilby skid a bit.

If I go the Genright route, it won't be until some time after Christmas. I'll talk to Brad before doing anything. I figured Rob and/or Lee might have some info too.

Rob's works fine but I think Lee is having problems too.

Rob's has a weird rattle, but I doubt it's related to tank construction. 😀

The rattle helps me know when the tank is getting low (Thanks John 😀 )

As far as my Exteme Crawler tank goes, it is great. It is about 21 gallons and the skid plate that comes with the tank is bomb proof.

So, maybe it's just Brad's tank that doesn't work correctly. My mistake. I do remember that Brad has the tank for the later model (his is early model) so that might be giving him the problems.

I remember when Brad did his install that he had several issues because of the year mis-match.

I emailed Genright about their SC tank which is suppose to give 2.5" extra clearance for the diff and 2" extra ground clearance over a stock tank. That would be perfect for what I need. Unfortunately they don't make it any more. 🙁

He said to look at the EXT tank with is factory capacity but gives 5" diff clearance. I think that's probably what Rob has. I don't really need that much clearance though. They've got a pdf on their website that mentions an EC tank which is the EXT tank but raised another inch, if you have a body lift. That would work for me but I don't see the EC tank on their website - another email sent.

🙁 Just heard back from Genright again. They don't make the EC tank any more either. That extra inch of ground clearance sure sounded appealing. It would have gotten me back to what I had with the taller springs.

Is the EXT the "Crawler" tank that allows you to move your axle back 4 inches?

Yes, they say you can move the axle back 4" with a Dana 60, 5" otherwise.

There are still vendors advertising the SC tank on their websites. I've sent out a few emails to see if any of them have one in stock.

I asked Genright why they discontinued the SC and EC tanks. They said the EXT tanks out-sold them 50:1 so it didn't make good business sense to keep making them.
