Ronie is spending the day with her mom and doing some shopping, but not the "black friday" variety.
Me, I'm replacing brake lines, E-brake cables and cutting down the rear fender openings ... NO WAY I'm shopping, except on-line.

So Happy Thanksgiving is in the General Chit Chat forum but Happy Black Friday is in the General 4x4 Discussion forum?
We're talking about going to Empire Mine for a walk to burn off some calories. I'm debating going to the hardware store but that's more project related and less Black Friday related.

My hope is that somebody is out shopping for off road type deals.
I know I'm looking hard at the Black Friday deals they have on 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicons. I know the motor isn't as good, but I could save around $10,000 from buying a 2012. Makes it very tempting...

went out before 10PM last night and was out until just about midnight. then we went back out from 315 for the rest of the day.
if anyone is looking for a toy run gift, i suggest a bicycle helmet. we managed to score 8 razor scooters from the club plus some other stuff. also, the raffle items are coming together as well. please finalize if you will have kids coming this weekend otherwise we won't be able to shop for them!
Saw Richard in Costco too...

And no longer covered under warranty 👿
Take it swift in Davis, the last time I was in there to have a key made they thought it came that way and asked what order code I had used to get a V-8 in it and what year it was.....I guess they thought they were the only ones who could change vin #'s on the ECM's.

I bet I spent more than anybody else on Black Friday 🙄
It was Keane's fault, he made me turn this into a General 4x4 thread.

How about some details? Did you trade the Tundra or are you going to sell it?
I traded in the Tundra, actually had almost $4,000 in equity in it. They at least gave me the price I wanted for it.
The new Jeep is a 2012 Sport, Automatic transmission, It has a dealer installed 2.5" spacer lift and (all 5) 33" tires on 18" alloy wheels (fake beadlocks).I originally wanted a Rubicon, but I saved about $8,000 by getting the Sport and I can have fun building it up a little. It will be a nice little daily driver until I recoup funds to start modding it. I am sure it will end up being a money pit, but for now at least it looks nice. And...lifetime warranty, and services and oil changes for 96,000 miles
Better picture...

This will not be my primary wheeling rig. this one is for daily driving, snow runs and some very mild wheeling.
IMy primary wheeling Jeep is sitting in the garage safe and warm:

What dealer did you make the purchase from? Does the services deal come with all JKs?
Well, I've had my other Jeep for about 9 years, so I was due for a new one. I paid extra for the lifetime warranty and service package. But it was a good deal and I couldn't pass it up. With the lift, tires, wheels, sidebars, services, and lifetime warranty, it was still a bunch cheaper than buying the Rubicon model I initially wanted.

Not yet. My brother is going to test drive my FJ Cruiser next weekend and may buy it. Once that is sold then I can order the JKU. Going for the base model Sport, white, manual, half doors.
Got a smog waiver on the YJ but I'll still need to get it to pass smog before I can sell it. Then I'll use that money to start building the JKU. I've owned the YJ for nearly 20 years so I guess I'm long overdue for a new Jeep.
