It was mentioned that my work party was more of a build thread so I'm moving it over to here. This is the latest update..

I recieved new coils for the rear today. I'll try and swap them out this week and hopefully get that ride down a bit.
I also recieved the rear swaybar relocation bracket and installed it today.

I have wired up the front and rear locker to use non-factory switches in the cab. It works like a champ but here is the question of the day. Coming off the Rubicon axles is a locker plunger that sends a signal if the locker is engaged. I purchased two little lights that will light up when the locker is engaged to let me know in the cab what is going on. The front works like a champ, the rear wasn't working. After further inspection the indicator in the rear axle is broken (part of buying used axles I guess). Anyway, I can replace the indicator but the factory part is $80. That seems a little much to have a light in the dash that tells me its locked and unlocked. My black Jeep has ARBs and there is no such indicator. I don't think I'm going to be fixing this unless anyone can give me a solid reason why I need to spend the $80 to make the dash light up when locked.

I am almost done with this install. It feels like I have been saying that for weeks now. Here is what is left.
1) Decide what we are going to do about the exhaust
2) Get the front drive line installed. (Currently won't fit, Northridge thinks I may need upper adjustable control arms to push the axle forward an inch)
3) Swap the coils to get the ride height dialed in.
4) Re-torque everything and take it for a spin!!

Because every time you activate the locker you're going to think about how that light should light up.

Huck, but NOW you need to copy/paste everything you've done over HERE or it isn't a "build thread". mr-green

It was a good weekend as we got a lot done. I wish I could say we are done but still not there yet. We were able to knock a few items off our list.

We picked up a new set of 37" Nitto Trail Grappers. We installed them on ATX beadlocks we got from Greg. (thanks they look great!)
We adjusted the rear control arms to get a better angle on the drive shaft. I installed a set of TEN rear axle shafts with 5x5.5 bolt pattern (to match the rims) I have the factory set of axle shafts if anyone wants them for a spare.

I picked up a set of adapters from Brad for the front wheels. I need to pick up some nuts to get them installed and then the front wheels can be permanently installed. So with all this you might be asking what is left?

I have some front upper adjustable control arms I need to install so I can finally get the front drive shaft installed. I need to retorque everything and then test it out. I'm hoping maybe next weekend for a test drive we'll see.

It looks real good. I am really looking forward to wheeling with your family in the two rigs. That will be a lot of fun.

Its alive, Its alive... little Halloween humor left over from the 31st.

I installed front adjustable control arms up top and was able to get the front drive shaft installed. I re-checked all the bolts, everything is nice and tight. I adjusted the front coils to level out the front end and everything look pretty good. I drove it a little bit on Sunday and a little bit today. So far so good no leaking no strange noises, brakes are nice and firm. I did have a check engine light come on the Code reader says its something with the emissions system. I checked the canister I relocated but everything looks good. I'm hoping maybe it will reset itself after I drive it a while, we will see. My front axle is sticking out a bit to the passenger side and there is no more adjustment available in the trackbar so a new one was ordered today.

I think we are ready for a trail ride or at least a prairie city outing. I still haven't decided what to do about disconnecting the front sway bar so I'm open to suggestions. I have been looking for a used Rubicon electric swaybar release but haven't found one yet. If I don't find anything I will just unbolt it in the front and go as is. I would also like to install currie antirock in the rear, I love it on my black Jeep and it really helps with flex.

Outstanding Items:
Swaybar disconnect
Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier
Transmission/Engine Skid Plate
Trackbar Brace
Regear Speedo for 5.38 gears and 37" tires
Upgrade Stereo

Its been a while since I have talked about our build. As many know we took it out this weekend and it did pretty good. We need to figure something out about the front end though. At full stuff the tires rubs the fenders. So we either got chop the fenders or replace them with flat ones or we gotta limit the uptravel. decisions, decisions. We are thinking of bed lining the tub and ditching the carpet. If you've got any ideas on this let me know.

Tube fenders and bump stops. If you set the bump stops to limit your articulation to "just before" your tires contact the fenders you won't lose any articulation but you will stop the annoying rubbing sound.

That's a great solution! Of course, it's exactly what I run... mr-green

Now that the holidays are behind us Reed and I are working on a few more upgrade to the "little" white Jeep over the next couple of days. 😀

Last time we went to Prairie City we flooded the inside and had to pull the carpet to let it dry out. In doing so we decided we are going to bed liner the inside instead of putting the carpet back in. We started that process today. We are hoping to be spraying some liner tomorrow as we are almost done with disassembly of the interior. Once we have the insides all torn out we can mask off what we don't want lined, clean and scuff up the surface (better adhesion) and begin spraying liner down. I hoping we have enough for three coats we will see. We are also replacing the front seat belts while we have the interior torn apart. They are the last component in getting the airbag system back to factory spec so that airbag light on the dash will go away, and oh yeah they would actually work in a crash... if you care about that. 😕

I also picked up a used working Rubicon electric disconnect. But i can't decide if I want to take out the electronics and have it setup manually. (EVO sells a kit so you can just screw in to unlock and out to lock). I've also seen these wired not using the factory hardware but its a pain. It would be awesome if I could find someone who has a broken disconnect and I could swap them for it and a little cash. We'll see.

Reed and a friend hard at work! All clean and half taped. We'll finish taping and start lining tomorrow.
