OfflineI had a dead battery.
I recharged it but when I took it in I hadn't driven long/far enough for the OBD II Low emission monitors to all chime in that everything was good.
So I went to drive it around and then the check-engine light came on, and now I have (once again) the dreaded P0422 http://www.obd-codes.com/p0442 evap coded.
I borrowed a code reader and reset the code and need to drive it long enough for the monitors to report all is well, and hopefully the evap code will not come back before that.
I've had an intermittent problem with this, but it was well behaved for a while.
I don't think it is the cap as I just replaced it a year ago.

OfflineStill no joy on the smog test.
I reset the evap code a few weeks ago, but one monitor still shows incomplete...
I'm tempted to take it to the dealer but I think they will complain about my skid.
I found a good description of what's going on with the code.

The MIL lamp is not lit.
there are no codes (right now)
the problem is the evap monitor has not run long enough, and from what I read may not run during hot weather.
Even with no codes, on an OBD II smogged engine, you won't pass if the monitors have not reported they are done with all their tests.
I HATE SMOG CHECKS
