I figure you guys could help me out with being shafted. Hers is the skinny...
I have an unlimited rubicon on 37's. I have been running the stock shafts for too long. The rock god's have blessed me by keeping my shafts together. But it is time to upgrade and keep these as spares.
So what do you guys recommend?
Longfield's with a no questions asked lifetime warrenty= $810
Alloy shafts (ten factory) 10 year warrenty= $550
Superior discovery shafts warrenty?= $450
Yukon shafts= $400
I don't plan to run these axles forever but I have to make them work til the wife says I can swap. Hopefully 2 years. So what should I do buy the cheapest since I'll have spares? Buy longs and never look back? Buy two sets of yukons? Please help. I'm totally lost on what to do.
Um...what?

Being a Toyota guy I'm partial to the Longs. Great product, great service, great warranty, great guy. My guess would be that they have a good resale value so when you finally do upgrade you can get a chunk of that money back. If you go cheaper, at least make sure to get something with a good warranty. It would really suck to throw that much money away!

Just to confuse things...I also agree with John. He's not kind to his axle and it takes what he throws at it!

You might try sending him a PM maybe he'll get the email notification.
When I talked to him it sounded like he had started acquiring parts to build up a Rubicon D44 front end but then he ended up buying another complete front end.

So one other question. Superiors do not warranty their shafts if there is a failure due to the u joint. But alloy has a no questions asked warranty. Superiors are made in the usa, alloys are not. If I bought longfields there is no u joint to worry about. superiors I would need ctms, ox joints or yukon joints.
I'm really liking the alloys for $500 with no questions asked 10 year warranty. Any thoughts?
Um...what?
