Who insures your ride and what do they cover? I am searching for new insurance as I was just informed that as far as modifications go my current company would only cover the vehicle, but not the axle, suspension, and motor upgrades. Anyone know of anyone who will.
Anyone using a stated value policy?
Thanks,
Jason

Mid-Century (Under Farmers) allows some mods to be included with the base insurance, like my wheels an tires. The axles can be covered under an addendum if I chose to add it. I wasn't planning to do anything more for coverage.
I can't see spending $1200 more per year for my full vehicle. I had my TJ for 12 years. at 1200 a year I've already saved nearly $15K, which pays for any upgrades I'd have to cover.

Once you find a place that will insure the other parts of your jeep, price it on an annual basis and the determine where your breakeven is. That way you can decide what your budget should be and what actual coverage you get for that amount.
Most of what I've seen is outrageous for coverage. I'm guessing that is becuase of losers who file claims when they trash their rigs off-road. I'd fix those myself, but I'd still have to pay the high premiums. I never filed any claims with my TJ. I was hit twice and the other people covered my repairs. Mercury was very good at covering my claim.

Yup. State Farm. Had to provide docs at time of of completion and get a replacement cost est. from another shop. That was in 2006. I will let you know how it works out. I know for sure what happens if it gets stolen or totaled. Will see how they do with the front axle housing. I think they are going to choke on the 3900.00 est. Never had any problem with them in the past over autos, boats, bikes, atv's or home. I am not feeling lucky on this one however.
