I have a M-100 jeep trailer that was built around 1944-45. I have found lots of info for this trailer..... but not all. I have a question thats been nagging me so I figured I would post it here.
Why does the passenger side of the trailer have lefthanded threads on the lug nut/studs.. ❓
It only took one stud being twisted of to investigate. 8)

That use to be fairly common. Back when I use to work in a shop we'd run across older cars with left handed lug nuts on one side. I believe it was 60's Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler vehicles.
Edit) Here's an article talking about it - http://www.carcraft.com/junkyardcrawl/c ... index.html . Sounds like maybe your hubs are on the wrong sides of your trailer.

A lot of older cars from the 20,30's, 40's had left handed threads. This was a safety measure they used to prevent the studs from coming off on the passenger side if they loosened up.

I might have looked at the axle from the wrong direction once it was out from under the trailer. But in my defense that righthand lefthand thing made me have to sit And think.
Grandad agree's it was for safety. " If you were being shot at in the war we did'nt fool around tightening lugs you grabed your rifle and jumped in the ditch or lead footed the jeep hoping that tire stayed on"
Thanks for the info guys
I think I will save this feature when I get to building this trailer for nostalgic purposes( The day I questioned my righty tighty lefty .......) 😕
