We also ended up with some electrical problems as well. The juggy is set up with push button start but the control panel wasn't getting power all of a sudden. Luckily for me, my brother is a boss at electrical stuff. So I coaxed him into figuring out where the short was.
One of the wires was tearing and causing the control panel to lose power, rending the juggy motionless.

So, I have some fuel tank tech for you guys, I wanted to put a wider flatter tank in the back of the juggy. But I'm worried about off camber situations. Should I run a flatter shorter tank or a taller narrower tank? I plan to hit some off camber situations and I don't want to run out of fuel. How do most tanks and fuel pickup deal with off camber issues?

Um...what?

Tank demention doesn't really matter since it is all relative to the amount of fuel in the cell when you are off camber. Put a surge tank on your cell. Pump the gas from the cell to the surge tank then out to your carb.

Do you run a serge tank Rob? Sounds like a cool idea. But also sounds complicated for my simple buggy.

I don't, but a couple buddies of mine do. I just run a cell with a sump and I haven't had a problem yet. The bigger the cell you have the more you are likley to run into fuel starvation. I currently run a baffled 12 gallon cell but switching to a 20 gallon baffled foam filled cell. I still don't anticipate any off camber or steep starvation problems because I'm usually not in that situation long unless I'm on my side.

Are you going to build a tank or buy one. I run a 22.5 gallon tank that is about 9" deep it has an internal sump with 3 trap doors and the pickup is welded to the bottom so it stays in fuel. Dimensions do mean something, hypothetically a 10 gallon tank that was 12"x12"x10' tall and had 1 gallon of fuel in with the pickup in middle would be in fuel longer off camber than a 10 gallon tank that is 30"x30"x2.65" with 1 gallon of gas in the tank with similar pickup. That's why the surge tank, smaller tank to draw fuel out of so less chance of cavitation for the pump. Am I missing something? Mark

The current tank is a 30 gallon. I can't remember the exact dimensions. But it's taller and skinner then the second tank I have. It's An open tank, no foam or baffles just a big empty box.

The 2nd tank I was thinking about using is flatter and wider but only approximately 10 inches tall. It's a 22 gallon and it's the secondary tank from an f350. I'm not sure how the interior layout is inside this tank.

Both tanks have the pickups at the top of the tanks. I modified the 30 gallon so the pickup is at the bottom center of the tank. Come winter time, I will venture into possible setting a different tank up.

I was looking at tanks off of summit for a while but came across the ford one in my brothers bone yard.

Um...what?

Here's a picture of the 30 gallon

And this is the ford tank but it's standing on its side.

Did some more wiring work.
We got the locker rewired, cleaned up random wires and got the short all figured out. Hooked the fuel lines up and she started right up.

Next we decided to pull the winch off. The electronic box on top of the winch was all jacked up from some recent rock rash. The control wires were cut and the controller useless.
So, for the winch gurus out there, what winch should I run? I have this beat up old warn 8274 that needs work or my superwinch 8500? It's about 2 years old and has only been used about 3 times.

I know most people will say run the superwinch but I have heard great things about the 8274. Faster motor and longer line. But older and bigger or newer, slower, less line and needs modification to mount?

Based on what I've read around here and there, the 8274. Just give it some love and run it yo. May still be good idea to have the super ready if needed, like mount it to the back? Wait, doesn't Jeff want a rear winch? 😀

Went out to Prairie City today to do some testing for the cantina weekend. Carl took some video and posted it on his youtube channel. Thought you guys might like to see it.

They seem to be doing a lot of updating out there at PC. Looks promising.

You should be able to get some money for the old 8274 and install your newer winch. Use money from the old winch for some more mods!

No doubt. I would have broken my neck by falling over a boulder.

At the entrance to the 4x4 area there is a sign up showing a Phase 2 of improvements. I forgot to look at it closely. Some more rock bed type obstacles that are longer.

I put a disclaimer in the video description! hahahahha It's just crazy how small those rocks look against those tires.

Update!! Started working on the winch.
It's giving us a hard time. We wired it all up but it doesn't want work. Ran out of time today so tomorrow afternoon, we'll do some more testing to see what's not wanting to work.
Jeff likes me taking pictures of him while he's working.
