So, do you recommend a 3 link for daily driving?

Um...what?

Yes, I think it is the best of both worlds. 3 connections to the frame, panhard bar for good steering with a stock box and very good caster and pinion angle retention. I do not daily drive mine as I don't have to, however I drive it to every trail within 2hrs Rubicon, Fordyce. Deer Valley, Barret, Slickrock and back at 65mph with bias 39.5 Iroks and it is very uneventful on the road. Mine is not perfect and I have learned a lot since building it 8 years ago, however it has been very reliable and works pretty good for a relatively low dollar rig. Mark

Jeff is kicking butt on this thing! I'm just the gopher and flap disker. I really like the clearance of the radius arms gained by doing the brackets on the cross member. True clearance test will be with the arrival of the 4-speed. 😀 I'm guess-ta-mating no clearance issues, but it's not like I've cycled suspension on a daily basis. 😯

I'm betting that his ride height will be in the 8" range.

So, in addition to that cross member, he was also able to get both lower links set and welded.

Good job dude!

I should be done and testing it one week before the rubicon roundup. I need to work out the bugs 🙂

Hey, what do you think about making your cross member bolted to the under side? Make some brackets and drill 'em out.

Box the inside of the frame, 1/4" plate and gusset to receive bolts, etc.??? This will provide more flexibility/access. Indeed would have to modify the tranny mount that is there already, but that's minor detail. 😀

I thought about it but it's where my links hook up too so I am afraid of it moving to much.

My front cross member is also where my lower control arms mount up. It is bolted and seems to work ok.

I will just weld it up. It does not need to come back out.

So up date. My atlas was delayed again. It will be arriving Friday the 22nd. I have asked for the shifters early so I can get to work installing them. And I have a hookup for a 4 speed for mock up. I will get my drive lines all done and belly pan so Friday I can swap it in and head out sat.

I got my new rims today. It took me about 4 hours to get them all mounted and torqued to spec. I am very happy with the set up. We will have to see how they are on the truck.
