I ran across this over on Jeepbbs.net. Looks like it could be an interesting alternative to the Warn hub kit for those of us using a D30/Rubi 44 front axle.

Help me with a shopping list and prices
knuckles 2 @259
ball joints 2@
spindle + bolts
hub + seal
rotor
inner bearings
outerbearings
bearing nut assy
stub shaft
hub locking assy
Steering changes would add up separately
high steer mount
drag link
knuckle-to-knuckle trackbar + ends
End result would likely look something like Paul's ( a 44 with high steer) but with a wimpy D30 pumpkin.

I ran a D30 on 37's for three years. Now, I only ran the rubicon 3 times with it, but no little sleuce. I'm guessing my gray jeep saw more action than your white one, and it worked just fine with the 30.
That being said, I think it comes down to cost. If you are saving $100, or it ends up costing more than a 44 build, why would you waste time building the 30?
I think a properly build D30 is enough axle for 90%+ of wheelers.

Don't forget:
brake caliper (x2)
brake caliper bolts
brake pads
possibly new front brake flex lines
new wheels if you don't already have 5x5.5"
This option may not be cheaper than the Warn hub kit, but with the exception of the knuckles, would use more standard parts.

Exactly where I was headed.
The knuckles look cool, I'm having a very hard time seeing how its cost effective, and in my case I still have a low pinion D30.
