I thought you already had this stuff done ?

What have you been doing with all your winter down time, when all good wheeler boys and girls mend or modify their rigs ?

Have you been procrastinting again ? 🙄 ..... lol

Working on Jeeps is not work. Working at work is work.

Well, I didn't get much done. Had a bit of a medical issue that had me out of commission through Monday. All is better now so I'll just pick it up a few hours at a time.

Just want all these projects done and tested by May 20th.

Well, this was a good weekend as I got a lot of things done ...

installed the shackle adjusters
installed the longer 1-1/2" lift shackles
replaced all leaf spring bolts with greasable
Netted about 3-1/4" additional lift. Total lift now at 7-1/2" in rear.

Installed new track bar in front

Got a lot left but did pretty well.

On 33s, yes, but barely. Keep in mind the interior is absolutely stripped back to the sheet metal. No seats, trim, carpeting, spare tire, nothing so some of that will be going away once the interior is back together and the rig is loaded for even around town driving. But it does bring up a question that I need to answer before doing the front ...

Is that too much? I didn't intend to go that high but the RE springs did not flatten out while redoing the rear spring shackle and increasing shackle angle (for more flex). I have a couple of options:

1 - Build the front the way I currently have planned and finish with lift of 7-1/2" rear and 7" front or
2 - Install the HD rear leaf (1" lift, 4 leaf instead of the 4-1/2", 5 leaf from the RE), then add a 1-1/2" block, and keep the front where it is. I'd wind up with 5-1/2" lift rear and 5" front which is pretty much where I am now.

I'm not a fan of blocks as such, but the leafs are not as "flexy" as stock so wrap shouldn't be as much of an issue PLUS a traction bar is in the future plans anyhow when the 44 goes in.

Thoughts??

Well, after doing some research on the RE springs and finding a rate of 190lbs/in, it's looking more like an overall lift of about 5-3/4" to 6-1/4" over stock height. That seems reasonable.

On with the build! clap
