Need some more details. What axle, brand of limited slip, miles on axle, replacing bearings, already own a press?
Some axles are way easier than others to work on. I hate working on Dana axles or anything c-clip.

Sorry, not touching a Dana axle even if the Jk is externally shimmed. Dana 44s hate me and I hate them more.

Sorry to be so negative but unless the only dirt this things sees is occasional fire roads I wouldn't do it. I don't know if you got a clutch or cone style limited slip but I would sell the auburn and not bother installing it. The only limited slip you should be considering is a Torsen style if you are doing serious 4wheeling. Granted it will depend on tire size but on a lifted jeep with larger tires the friction style limited slips typically have a useful life measured in the 20-40k mile range. I would say for the effort to spend the extra $200 and get a Torsen limited slip diff than never wears out.

I have done everything else on my Jeep and my other cars. I have paid a shop a couple times in my life and that was for gears.

I use Ring & Pinion service of Rancho Cordova http://ringandpinionservice.com/
They do great work at a very reasonable cost. They will put the ARB locker in my pumpkin for $180.00.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.
