I've mentioned before about my left front tire wheelies and general handling issues related to my 4.5" short arm lift and rear Detroit locker. The other day I was thinking about all the changes I made when I really started noticing problems: replaced 3.5" springs with 4.5" springs, stepped up to 35" tires, anti-rock swaybar, and OME long travel shocks. After all that, in addition to the other issues already mentioned, I've noticed the Jeep seems to wallow around curves and I seem to notice a lot more body movement when shifting gears or getting on/off the gas.
I'm thinking maybe with the setup of my Jeep the OME shocks are just too soft. What shocks would you guys recommend to firm up the ride a bit without being overly harsh?

Bilstein 5100's or Ranch 9000's on the firm setting. Those are the only shocks I will run and I have tested out a lot of shocks. My preference would be the Bilstein's . Both run over a $100 for each shock though.

Does anyone know of an online source to look up the compressed/extended lengths for the 5100's?
Have you contacted them? I needed that info for my rears and they faxed me a sheet. Also, I've talked to RE in the past and they have the info as well.
I like the Bilsteins as well. I have also used a cheap ES9000 and it was plenty stiff. I've also heard the Edelbrock remote reservior is a good shock. I think you'll be surpirsed how these shocks will improve your ride/handling.
I run RE remote reserviors in front and bilsteins in the back. I am happy with my set up.

I dont' like to visit p-4x4.com while working, but billavista may have something on the tech pages outside of the forum. He had several fantastic reference guides for other things.
google: billavista bilstein
