Sounds like my kind of day though I did get my bump stops welded on and a couple u-bolts replaced, but it was a battle the whole time. I even ended up breaking my vice. My son wanted us to get the tires back on and go for a spin, but by that time I had had enough frustration so we called it a day and came in and had lunch.

Did you try a pickle fork and a BFH?
It's threaded, how's a pickle fork going to help?
I've never seen a TRE threaded into the pitman arm. You'll see threads where you removed the castle nut, but those threads don't go all the way through the pitman arm. Where the TRE goes through the pitman arm it should have a smooth tapered fit.

Just bring it to my house and you can use my vise, torch, and anti seize for the threads when you put it back together..
