We got Johns front axle moved forward 1 1/2 inches and we were cutting his rear tube fenders off when I got metal in my eye!!! Now I'm sitting at the Med Clinic and he is at my house still cutting off his tube fenders... He is going to owe me big time

Is John actually working on his Jeep with sharp tools and things without supervision? 😯
I even got to use the sawzall :hack:
We got one rear tube fender back on, but we were getting tired so we called it a day. We got my Jeep stretched to 96 inches and opened up the rear wheelwell a lot. It should flex out well when we are done. I'll need to get the rear tube fenders fully welded on to hide the gaps created by removing them.

Here is a comparison of the before and after. You can see the front axle moved forward to give more clearance. You can also see how much we opened up the rear wheel well to give more room to stuff the tires. Sorry about the rough looking paint and finish, but that will all be finished next week.

If we high-line those front fenders, we could drop you down to 4 inch springs!!

But then I'd want to high0line my rear fenders to match. You want to cut them off again? 👿

Trip report...
The Fordicon run was my first chance to test out the new tires. Measurement wise, they were right in the middle between Brad's 37s and Rob's 40s. I had very minimal rubbing on one fender, which can be easily adjusted. Otherwise they stuffed well and steering was not effected at all. The extra ground clearance was helpful and I was able to make it over stuff that used to be more difficult. I still can't drive straight down "Diff Hanger Alley" like Rob, but it is MUCH better. The tires hooked up on the rocks better than my old style MTRs and I was very impressed with how the sidewalls flexed. I am very happy with the new tires and I think it was the right choice. I got more ground clearance, better traction, more sidehill stability, and I didn't have to do any expensive mods to get them to work. Two thumbs up... 8)
