I have been looking into a few lift kits/ spacer kits for my White TJ.
I was considering the spacer kit for now but i came across a 4in lift kit for under $500 http://www.quadratec.com/produ.....21_403.htm .Should i go for the spacer kit , get this lift kit or keep saving up.
any opinions appreciated.

Rubicon Express is the only kit most of us will recomend. It's a proven kit and many (most all) of us run it.

Spacer kits are all the same, so buy cheap. I'd save for a real lift if you plan to wheel the Jeep.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I don't know much, but many of us use the Rubicon lifts and we go where ever we want (Fordyce and Rubicon for example). It works. I know money is always the issue, so many of these guys started with these cheap kits then ditched them for long arm Rubicon kits. It's only money (and maybe a marriage or two).

I suggest you think about your long term plan. If you eventually plan to get to a big set up, then go cheap now to save the money. I think there are some inexpensive kits to get you on 33's. Then you can run trails while saving for the big build.

I don't think there is a spacer kit that will run 33's.

33's will be a great start for snow runs and most basic trails. A rear locker will get you across the rubicon with a buddy!

I do agree that the RE stuff has proven the most durable from our experience.

There is a writeup for 33s on a TJ for $99.00 at http://www.SawzallAndTwoCasesOfBeer.com

my .02 is save up and do it once. Incremental upgrades kill the pocketbook.

If you can find a decently priced used kit then maybe in interim kit makes sense IMO.

2 inch spacers and a 1 inch body lift is cheap and will allow 33 inch tires. Then you can save for a real lift and will already have a body lift.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

While I am not a fan of body lifts, I was thinking along this line. $200-$300 total and you run 33's until you save for the big stuff. Also you can start building other items while you wheel.

Why are you not a fan of body lifts? I have been running a 1 inch for 5 years and you know how I wheel. No ill effects on my Jeep yet....

Maybe you should try some trails or hitch a ride with one of us on a run, to see what kind of wheeling you want to do. Then you can plan your build accordingly.

If you have to do something now, and it has to be cheap, this is the way to go. Otherwise save up for a complete lift kit.
