The title pretty much says it all.
2003 Tahoe 4x4 , stock except for the 17 inch Z71 wheels. 265/70-17 113S (load range c)
The original Goodyear AT/S have about 55K and they won't make it through the winter so I'm starting to shop now.
I was looking at the new Michelins, maybe another set of the Goodyear AT/S, but there are some other tires out there I'm not that familiar with.
I had BFG AT-KOs but wasn't impressed in slushy sierra cement.
I do a fair amount of city/freeway mix, and a few times a year get on a dirt washboard like bowman lake road.
Highway snow driving to and around tahoe is also in the mix.
I'll take first-hand experience or hearsay.
thoughts?

I've been pretty impressed with the Big-O ATs that I have on the Ford. It may be that the thing weighs so much that it drives like a tank, but it does pretty darn well in the snow. I don't have anything to compare them to since they're all that I've had on the truck, but I'd take a look at them if I were you. I think they're a load range D, so they may be a bit more tire than you're looking for.

Lee's our resident tire guy. You might want to contact him for info.

Maybe the Pirelli Scorpion AT?
Here's what TireRack lists for AT type tires. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/.....llterr.jsp

If you need tires and are still shopping, I'd mirror Fred's comment (and others) and head to Lee's shop. He'll have several brands/models you can choose from and his prices are reasonable. I run a set of his tires on my truck. Keane does as well. I think others are have also done business with him.
Alternatively, if you want to stay local, then Chris at EDH Big O can help as well. He's also a good guy who can help you. Just tell him you want the "Posse deal"!

which tires?
I run Faulken's on my truck. They are too "street" for what you're looking for, but they improved my mileage by just under 10% (exactly as Lee suggested).
For general service tires, Lee is pretty knowledgeable.

I was thinking of getting the Big O Big Foot A/Ts. Keane likes them and my brother in law likes his too. Lee suggested them to me once, but he recomends something different every time I ask. That must mean there are several good tires to choose from. Just stay away from the Michelin LTX. I've got a free set I'll give you if you have 18" wheels.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Which LTX ?
LTX A/S (street tire)
LTX M/S (All Season)
LTX AT (Old style All Terrain)
LTX AT2 (New style All Terrain)
LTX is a series of tires just like the Goodyear Wrangler. I'd hate to dismiss Wrangler MT/Rs because I hated Wrangler RT/S

In the interest of full disclosure...I just took the garbage down in the truck and remembered that I have the Les Schwab Wildcats on the front of the truck. The Big-O A/Ts are only in the rear. There was a substantial difference in on road manners when I put the new tires on, but the old ones were bald to the point that the steel had to be close, so I'm not really comparing apples to apples.

We run the Yokohama Geolanders on our work fleet. I liked them so much I recommended them to some family members and now my Uncle is running them on his Land Cruiser, my Dad is running them on his Cherokee, and 3 co-workers are running them on their trucks and everybody loves them.
