The radiator in my 04 TJ took a dump yesterday. The leak appears to be coming from the lower seam from what I can tell from a quick visual inspection. This will be the second replacement radiator that I will be putting in this vehicle. Should I just go with typical factory replacement radiator and change out the two hoses or should I consider anything different? The average life of these radiators is about six years or 35,000 miles each. Should I be looking at an upgraded radiator?

Jeff I am sorry to hear that.  You might want to reach out to Greg as he just replaced his radiator with an aftermarket one.  I am not sure what he went with?

Jeff I'm still with my factory radiator knock on wood.  But Sharkeys right it might be time to look into an after market one.

Check the warranty on what you last put in. Most have a lifetime free replacement.

In the back of my mind I was thinking that it might have some type of long term warranty. Thanks, I will check my records.

I did a modine for my TJ.  It lasted until I sold it.

I went with a Mishimoto radiator that has a lifetime warranty.  It's an all aluminum radiator.  The jury is still out on this one.  There are mixed reviews on the JK version.  I have the updated version for my application so we will see how long it lasts.

Um...what?

Used to be able to get a mopar factory upgraded mid-east cooling package radiator but I'm not seeing anything online anymore.

I would just avoid any factory style radiator that isn't genuine mopar. Warranty or no, I just don't have much faith in the off brand auto parts store replacements.

Jegs has up to a four tube aluminum radiator. I put a 3 row in mine and it's good up to 600 hp.

I have used and currently run Mishimoto parts. They build some sound components. Good Brand in my opinion. I'm currently running their Transmission Cooler in my JK.

I needed the Jeep on the weekend to load the tree trunk on the trailer for Kris so I ran to Reibes Auto Parts and just got one there. It has a lifetime warranty so we shall see. The last one only lasted four years but I could not find the receipt or figure out where I bought it but I think I ordered it online.

That's great to hear.  They seem decent and I have heard great things.  The JK is the only place I hear there might be issues.

Um...what?
