So this weekend Reed in his infinite wisdom decided to drive through some mud at Folsom Lake while with some friends going fishing. At first the jeep was just slightly stuck with mud almost up to the rim. He and his friends at first tried to pull the jeep out but only had a two wheel drive pick-up and not much experience and only made the situation worse. The Jeep sank lower and lower until finally he called me around 8pm to come help. This was Saturday night and it was already pitch black. When I arrived the Jeep was sunk so low you could barely see the top of the 37″ tires. I tried to pull him out but the suction was too great the Jeep didn’t even budge. I called Jeff and he came out and we tried with two vehicles again it didn’t budge. We finally called it a night and went home and left the Jeep sitting in the mud. This is what we saw the next morning.
Reed brought 4 friends with him and shovels and they began digging the Jeep out.
It took about three hours to get to where we could see behind the tires all the way around. By this time Jeff had shown up and we again attempted to pull him out with both of us pulling. The Jeep still didn’t budge. So we continued to dig. We were finally able to free him around noon. The jeep was more than covered with Mud in the floorboard 4 inches deep.
The Jeep drove home fine and Reed has been cleaning on it since yesterday afternoon. So far so good, no permanent damage but we may continue to find mud for years to come!

Well, if he does it again you'll know he likes the mud. I don't do mud because I'm too lazy to spend that much time cleaning.

I pulled a full size out at folsom lake today. Required my winch and an anchor rig behind me but we got it.
How easy is it to drive down into Folsom "Lake" and from where would you do this? Obviously getting stuck once there is no issue.

Where there any signs? We were Way left of the ramp. Like 1/2 mile or so.
The driver who got stuck started out well left of the boat ramps then circled around towards the dam following the dry land. He got stuck about 50 yds out from the signs.
So as not to get stuck ourselves, Charlie and I had gone to the right of the boat ramps and around the signs but stayed on the “path” … there was a road next to the signs that had been well traveled, then we moved out to the stuck rig. Basically, we got “illegal parking” tickets. The dude who was stuck got “misdemeanor trespass” at $300, the “recovery” was another $300, plus the damage to the rig … the recovery tore off the front facia.
