With snow like we have been getting, you won't be running any Gold Lake trails until mid to late July. Maybe even into August. I have run into 20 foot deep snow berms on the upper trail in late July before.

Thanks for that info Rob. I think you're the only one that I know who's been on those trails.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

I would like to do Deer Valley again. I really enjoyed it a couple months ago when I ran it.
Barrett. I still haven't been on it. 😡
And, anywhere with good fishing. 😀
Here is a general question about the Rubicon Round-up. I usually show up on Monday, and drive to Buck and then out on Tuesday. However, many people run in on Saturday and camp.
Why not run in on Saturday this year, set up camp at Buck, and run out to the top of Cadilac, back to the top of little sleuce, and then back to buck? I think most of the later trail isn't too busy on weekends. This could even be done on Monday, with no traffic while waiting for the rest of the group to get there...

That would work for me...I could just exit at Cadilac and be back for work on Monday...it's always scheduled while I'm teaching Summer School.

I really like the idea of a FIshing trip!
The High Lakes seem to have lots of good fishing spots near Chico.
Bodie would be awesome as the wife and I have been wanting to go there!
Just a list of trails I have on hand that I would like to do as well (in no particular order):
Slick rock
Bear Valley
Eagle Lakes
Pardoes trail
Hell Hole

As in Bear Valley Loop Trail outside of Truckee? If that's the one you're talking about, I've been on that a few times. It's a nice entry level trail but a little short.
There is one fun, hard, optional obstacle called the Ball Peen challenge. It can be pretty gnarly if you run it at the time they set it up for the challenge. It has a go-around though and the rest of the trail is uneventful. Not too many people in the club have been on that trail.

Yeah thats the one.
I wouldn't mind Fordyce either, but figured you probably run that all the time.
Anything with good tout fishing would be sweet!

So, it definately sounds like a group fishing trip will be added to the calendar this year. Should be fun with a good turnout. We'll make it for the Silver/Red Lakes area and car camping will be the focus, with optional 4 wheeling of course.
Another event I want to plan for this year is a BBQ and Horseshoe tournament. The park here in Loomis has a nice picnic area that can be reserved and it has several very nice horseshoe pits. It will be a draw-pot event where everybody's name will go in the hat and your partners will be drawn. I'm thinking everybody will draw two [different] partners to play with. We'll have to figure out a bracket system. It should be fun and I know several members that LOVE to play horseshoes. Maybe the club can spring for a couple of cheesey awards 😀
