I just wanted to give an update on my "mishap" on the club Rubicon run in June.
Breaking my driver side rear axle ended up being a total loss on my rear end. The ARB is wiped out. (It could be rebuilt though, at a cost close to a new one), the brakes are saturated with gear oil which renders them useless, the housing at some point in time was bent pretty badly, which makes it junk, and all the bearings are junk due to metal shavings.

I should be done with my bigger and badder dirt bag rig in about a month, so hopefully I can get back on the trail before there is too much snow.

Wow! HUGE upgrade! How will your rear diff clearance change with the 14 bolt? Is it very much?

Now he can step up to 40s and not have to worry about ground clearance at the diffs 8)

Between you building up your Jeep and Rob building up his Jeep, I'm going to have the "baby-rig" this year at the Hammers.

I have the stock 04 disks with internal parking brake. The calipers and backing plates are about the only salvageable parts there. I will let you know when I am ready to start selling stuff. I'm also going to have a ARB for parts, and some six lug Dutchman axles for sale. embarassed

I don't know the exact difference but, it's nothing 40" tires won't fix. 8)

Definately shave it. We saw a 14 bolt with 40s on Barrett and I swear he had 7 inches of ground clearance 😯
