Anyone good at trouble shooting a winch problem? I have the Warn xd9000I. Two days ago it was working fine. Yesterday when I tried to use the winch, it started to pull then it would stop pulling when it got about 2 to 500lbs of pressure on the line. (Hence, it wouldn't pull my Jeep out of where it was stuck) About 20 minutes later, I tried to use it again and nothing. It was like there was no power getting to the solenoid or the solenoid wasn't working. Today when I tried it, all I am getting is a bunch of clicks from the solenoid. Does this sound like a solenoid problem or could the motor be fried? Is there anyway to tell if either one is bad? I am not an electronics guy. How would I tell if the motor was fried? Or how could I find out if the solenoid is fried? Any help would be great.

[quote="JohnDF"]Remember, my M8000 did the same thing last year when we wheeled Fordyce in the snow. It turned out that a connection to the sylenoid was frozen over and not making good contact.
BTW...M8000, five years and still going strong 😀

I haven't had problems with either my Warn or T-Max (other than a dead battery in the remote control once).
My guess would be a connection or the battery.
