Ok, so I was doing some maintenance on the wheels after I was told I had a broken bolt on a wheel.

I was able to remove the broken bolt and then figured I torque all the bolts. I found 2 wheels good. One wheel had 4 bolts lose and one wheel that had 8 bolts loose and another bolt broken, but the head still in! What the heck?

I ran walker Evans rims for 12 years. I never broke a bolt, or had bolts come loose. Now I've seen two broken and several loose with these rims.

What is everyone else seeing? We're Walker Evans rims super good? Or is what I'm seeing in the race lines unacceptable?

I've never had a broken bolt, but my trailready wheels had a few loose bolts after my initial install.

Um...what?

For all my Walker Evans rims, I installed them, went on one run, re-torqued them and that was it - for 10 years...

I figured that was the same for the racelines but I guess not...

That blows. Good luck having 4 wheel parts warranty bolts for you. I've been trying to get replacements for the ATX wheels I sold to Huck for a year and a half.

Um...what?

I bought my own bolts. Bolts are cheap. I'm justs surprised grade 8 bolts from Raceline failed. That doesn't have anything to do with 4wheelparts.

At least they are super easy to get out once they break...

You must wheel harder then the regular joe shmow.

If consider calling them and raise my concerns with them and see what they say.

Is there major rock rash where those broken bolts were located? I know some people prefer grade 5 bolts because they will bend before breaking. All I know is that we have some amazing wheelers in our club. Jeff can break an atla and you can snap grade 8 bolts.

Um...what?

I was able to drill them fairly easily. Aren't grade 8 bolts supposed to be tough to drill?

I have never broke a bead lock bolt. I didn't think that was possible. Lol!

I'm thinking they were fake grade 8. There is no way those bolts should be as easy to drill as they are. I'm going to buy a legitimate grade 8 from OSH, and then drill it to see the difference between the two...

Are we talking 2 different rigs? Your YJ and now JK? They weigh differently I'd gather by appearances.

Fatigue does wonderful things.

The weight difference between the jeeps wasn't much, plus I drove on my TJ bead locks for twice as long as my JKU yet they didn't suffer fatigue?

I bet the weight difference between my jeeps wasn't much. My TJ had dual 60s with full steel fenders front and rear. Also the 4.0 is much heavier than the 3.8. My JK only has the tube fender portion rather than incorporating the steel body replacements.

I still think its the bolts.
