After looking for a few months, we finally settled on the vehicle my wife wanted for her new toy. It took some negotiating, but we got the deal done. She even did some of the customization work herself.

That's cool and it has the same beadlocks as my Jeep.
Was it a built rig, kit, or custom?

I used to wheel a lot. . .

The cooling fans in the rear window are really going to mess with her hair.

Yes, but she specified a requirement that she "look cool".

The kit was ready to run, but some parts, plus the body, were added.

She won't. She was driving it around the family room last night...

Ok, so we have two of these now. Mine is Captin Zoom and her's is Rock Princess. We have them set up and have been driving them up and down a rock garden in our back yard. We have a trail that is perfectly proportioned for the Mini-Crawler size. Next up is lighting for night running. We'll light the trail with solar lights and see if they are bright enough for night runs. I already have a competition crawler RC with LED lights for night running, but the trail we have set up is too mild for it. I'll post some pics but this could be a fun event for some in our club as the vehicles are relatively inexepensive and very cheap to modify. The buggies run for about an hour on a full battery charge.

What scale are the crawlers? I still have my tuber buggy that's about 1/10 scale. I just need to put my new trans in it (with dig 8) ) and I'll be ready to roll.

Excellent question. Here is what I think...

The Mini Crawlers are about 1:18 scale
My comp crawler is 1:10 scale
I also have a 1:24 scale crawler but it's too small to run effectively on the trail.

Let us know when you get yours back to operational and we could set a run up! My new batteries and charger should be in next week.
