Tabor is a Warn made winch. It is just a little less expensive. Not paying for the name.

I have one, and have never had any issue with it.

Tabor is a lower powered, less expensive winch. It is geared higher so it pulls slower under load. I'm sure it works fine, but it is noticably slower under load than John's M8000, for example.

For the price, it's a good product.

What about the Smittybuilt XRC 8000 lb winch for $299?

Don's talking about winches. I don't expect he'll use one much so I've been talking with him about this model.

Edit) This is the one - http://www.4wheelparts.com/Winches-Winc ... S%2fB97281

Brad, I'm drawing a blank on the one on your yellow Jeep, but I remember it being a lower price and back when you used to wheel it seemed to do ok. Does super well at the malls now days. 8) 😀

No kidding! I recovered 9 shopping carts from the creek behind Wal-mart + one homeless person. No problems...

It's a T-Max 10000I. It has an integrated "solonoid" and is waterproof. It used to be cheap, but isn't any more. But, it does pull very strong under load.

I got the T-Max EW-10000W for a really good price at this site at the time. They don't have it listed anymore though. They do show the EWI-10000.
