OfflineI ask because I'm going to be getting a set of wheels beadlocked by Champion. They are 15" M/T wheels. That means I'm pretty much stuck with a 15" tire.
When my 37" MT/Rs wear out, I'd like to go bigger without having to stretch my Jeep right away. So, I was thinking a 38" tire would probably be a good bet.
Several 38" tires still come in a 15" size...but how good are they...
I used to wheel a lot. . .

OfflineIf you are going to spend the money, why not do it right? Sell the 15's and get a 17" rim set. The market is going towards larger rim sizes and a 15" rim size will only be available on garbage tires in the next couple years anyway.
Most real competitive rock crawlers are already running a larger rim.
Plus your truck is running 18's already. DUB's are only a step away!

These are some nice tires and what I'd like to switch over to in a 40" size. They've got a 38" and available for a 15" wheel.

OfflineOpinions on tires are like you know what. "Everyone has one" Unless you have actually run tires that you are calling crap then it is just an opinion....You will find guys who have run MTR's and Krawlers and will call them crap because of weak sidewalls. Run what you can afford and then decide the next time if you want to drop big bucks on tires. I am personally going to go to a 39.5 Irok because I have seen how they perform on the rocks, and It is my opinion that they do better than an MTR or Crawler and have stronger sidewalls.
Just my opinion 😀
