Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well during this event. I’m sorry I have not had an update recently as not real much has changed , until today. As of Friday May 1 ALL Forest road and trail systems will be open for travel. However ALL developments will be closed so no bathroom, trash pick up, or information center will be open. There is still lots of snow up high however it is melting very quickly. As far as trail maintenance runs, for the time being there will be no “official” or credited maintaining runs per the the Eldorado National Forest Covid19 protocols . But as long as we maintain “social distancing” in the woods or the mall parking lots we are good to go. As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you

I ran Hell Hole on 5/16/20 with some friends. Had a blast. We made camp just off the top of the trail. In and out via Wentworth Springs Road/Eleven Pines Road. Trail was great. Damp enough to keep the dust down, but dry enough to wheel just fine. We had planned on camping and running the Rubicon Loop, but they were flying rock over our planned campsite into the Rubicon and kicked us out. After kicking around a bunch of options we headed over to Hell Hole. Five rigs all on 35's. One rig without lockers needed to winch once, but the rest of us made it in and out just fine. I used my lockers twice on the way back up. Nobody broke anything. Great day. We camped Sat night and headed back down the hill Sunday AM before the rain hit. That was my first time on this trail. We spent about six hours out, lunch, and back. We had some traffic so we had to wait on a group of about 10 rigs on the way out. Another small group of 4 also passed by.
