It's pretty slow with 4x4 stuff around here today. Anyone have anything else interesting going on?
I started a new little project on my 1928 Ford. A while back it wouldn't start - no spark to the distributor. I figured out that if I disconnected the head light/tail light wiring harness the car would run. It's been like that for about a year now. Last week I picked up a new wiring harness and started working on it last night. I'm about 1/2 done and look forward to having lights again.

I need to get a big Oak tree trimmed. It is hanging over the house. After the last storm, a huge branch broke off. Luckily, unlike George, it didn't hit the house. The quotes I'm getting to trim it...over $1,000 😯 It would be cheaper to let it break and crash through the roof. Then I'd get the insurance to fix it
I used to wheel a lot. . .

My tree trimming service is cheap, but we're uninsured and no licenses. 😀 We do speak English. If it helps at all, I'll help you get rid of any wood as long as it's on the ground (or won't hit your house if I fall it the wrong way). 😀 That includes standing around a burn pile roasting marsh mellows. 8)

Like I've said before, my work is hiring - no unions - no contract negotiations - not Canada...
You can't afford me. I have a 40% "Sacramento" fee.

On a side, more interesting note...my York project is moving forward. I have the York, have pulled the old A/C in the 4Runner, and my buddy Dale and I are working on the bracket. My only concern is that Dale used to weld professionally for parts with tolerances in the thousandths. With an engineer and a guy with a work history with requirements like that, we'll never be able to actually produce anything that'll work. If you know of anyone that is considering CO2. Let me know. I'll have a good set up for sale at a reasonable price soon.

That's funny becuase it is possible my work pays 40% more than your current job. Of course, that means you'd break even on the gas if you drove your Ford every day...

I have received two questions on this posting.
My work is currently hiring engineers. For consideration you need to have a BS on one of the 4 major engineering disciplines. If you do - let me know! I work on referrals!!!

You're probably right, but half the reason I took a pay cut and moved to the sticks was to do the whole improved quality of life/family thing. 3 hours in a day in a car would kind of defeat the purpose. Plus, Kelly's looking to head back to work. She's applying for a part time home school coordinator type thing. Sounds a lot like what John does. I hope she can handle the stress.

The hours may be short, but I'm working at mach-10 and it can be stressful at times.
But, for the most part it's a lot of fun because you really get to know the students pretty well.
I hear you, and I wasn't seriously giving you a hard time. I've lived with teachers my entire life, I have a reasonable idea of what it takes. I couldn't do it.

What do you mean by quality of life? Commute time? Home location? Distance from Crime?
For me, it was moving from the bay area to Sacramento to cut my taxes and commute time. Next it was quality of education for our kids. Eldorado County has the lowest tax rate in the state (it's the state minimum), and my commute is 8 miles each way to work, with no highway or traffic.

That's about as broad as a question can get. 😀 I don't like neighbors. Sometimes I feel cramped on 2 acres. I like shooting my BB gun off the deck. I took a job with less pay, but less work hours and limited travel. My commute is less than 15 minutes to achieve that lifestyle. 8) The schools compete with any in the State and probably the nation. Kelly tried to volunteer at on of the schools and they sent her home because they already have too much parent support. I'm a rural guy.

Try getting 2 acres in El Dorado Hills - Can you say $2 million?!
You can always fire your bb gun a folsom state park - but I think that's a felony...
My father in law lived by you. He worked for PG&E as an area manager up there. They had 5 acres and a custom built home. I think he had to commute into Grass Valley however.
