Monroe Transmission in Newcastle has a good reputation and they are honest. My son's Tacoma threw a transmission code. They reset it and tested it and said that it was probably a fluke due to overheating. He was a little low on fluid so $6.00 was the total charge for the free inspection and fluid. They have very good Yelp reviews:

I remember a website for an aftermarket company that rebuilds the 42rle. Let me see if I can find it

It's called smartpartsauto.com. Both good and bad reviews but not a whole lot of information out there about them.

Best upgrade you can do would be an auto to manual swap!
Otherwise this might be the time to justify the HEMI swap.
