I've been killing my evening reading the forum at expeditionportal.com. I've decided I want to sell the 4Runner and Corolla to buy a mildly built 4 door Tacoma so I can ditch this place and spend a month or so driving around Baja/Central America. 😀 8)

Offline I just got back from camping yesterday. I got caught up on reading all the new posts but didnt' have anything new to post.
Mid-week camping is great! We went to Wench Creek last Sunday and came home on Friday. It was interesting to see the campground dynamics change over the course of the week. Sunday, Monday & Tuesday were really quiet and we pretty much had the run of the place. There was us on one end of the campground loop and another camp on the opposite end. Wednesday a few more sites filled up but things stayed pretty quiet. Thursday people started rolling in for the weekend and the radios started playing. By Friday morning we could tell the circus was coming to town so we left.
I'm happy to report we neither saw or heard of any bears!

Offline Yeah, I read a weather bulletin last night that said high temps in the mountains could be 50-60 degrees with rain possible this weekend. We missed the heat wave here in the valley this week, but it was pretty warm up at the campground too. A quick swim in the lake fixed that though. 😀

Should I change the title to "Bad Weekend?" Where is everybody? I've been working on firewood for the better part of the weekend. Split everything yesterday and got most of it stacked before I got rained/thundered/lighteninged out. It was crazy around here for about 1/2 hour but now the sky is blue.

Offline It's been busy for me too. I've been cleaning and waxing the motorhome among other chores. There's a lot of square footage to wax even on our our smaller motorhome.

It's been a great weekend for welding on the jeep. Not too hot and no distractions.. 😀
I'm saving "Bad Day" for Monday.

Wasn't a bad weekend here. Went to the con Friday, stayed a Elise Creek. Went in through Wentworth springs. Wow, lots of work up there. Saturday went to the little sluice, watched a couple of people try and run it. A guy in a bronco that he had just finished upgrading, broke a front axle ( a 60). Then went back to Elise and came out Sunday. Spit ran on Saturday for about 30 seconds, but that was about it.

It was a great trip even though we hit some rain. It snowed on the summit of Lassen so we had to change our ride on Saturday to a different route. Not much has changed in Taylorsville. They did have a better beer selection in the store though. 😀 Once again, dinner at the Genesee Store was unbelievable!! It's crazy to have gourmet food in a little shack out in the middle of nowhere.
