Are you talking about Ben? He did me right when I bought the Tundra and FJ from him the same day! Saved me around 15K off the advertised sticker price on both rigs!!!!

No, we looked at it, but we couldn't fit the car seat(s) in it very well. Had to scoot the seat forward for the rear facing seat. Plus, we had already driven the Murano and I'm not sure I could have talked Kelly down. 😀 For the next couple of years we really want something with plenty of room. Looks like they're running a bunch of specials on Rogue's right now though. If you start looking at them you're into the CRV, Rav4, etc. type range though.
If you go Toyota, let me hook you up with my contact. I think everyone I've sent to him has been pretty happy with the deal they've gotten. It'll be the smoothest, most pain free car deal you ever do. I think he's also working the used car side of the business now so he may be able to help you there too.

That's not a bad looking car. Why an 07?

Subi introduce that body style in 07 and it didn't sell so they changed the grill for 08 and up. I've always like Subarus but the styling has been questionable.

Owning a V-8 in the wagon in no way makes up for the fact that it's a wagon. I grew up being hauled around in a POS station wagon. Ours had a 400 V-8. Still an emberassing ride.
I'll take my 3005 Tacoma with 140K over most cars sold today. It gets about 20 mpg, requires no maintenance and just rumbles a long. No huge V-8, but the little 6 goes just fine...
I wish I still had my old station wagon. 1969 Jeepster Commando 225 V-6 sm 465 full width axles mono leaf spring-over 38" boggers. It handled bad on the street while being towed !

Tonight we test drove some more cars...
The Camaro SS is absolutely AWESOME!!! If I didn't need a truck, the Tundra would go bye-bye. But alas, I can't talk Elena into trading the Subi for one...excuse me while I dry my eyes (weeping)...
We drove a Malibu and an Equinox...total crapola...'nuff said.
We test drove an Xterra. I really liked it with good power, 4x4, nice driving, and cool looking. Elena however does not see the need for another 4x4 with the Tundra and the Jeep already filling that need. Shot down again
We also test drove The Nissan Rogue. It was probably the best of the bunch that Elena has liked so far. It zipped along prettyy well, handled like a sporty car, and didn't look completely sissy-like.
The search continues, but it obvious that I'm not going to be getting anything that I'm going to be ultra excited about

I guess I have a "don't mess with me" look Everybody has been pretty cool and I haven't been into an office yet. I think in this economy, they are trying to be cool so we'll come back and buy a car from them. The Toyota dealer was the pushiest and was the only dealer so far to pull the 'ol, "What can we do to earn your business today" line
The front-runner for me is the Camaro and the Xterra. The Camaro is really exciting to drive, it's handling is awesome, sound is very throaty, it's very comfortable, and looks down-right cool. The Xtaerra has great power and the ride is also nice. It would be a great camping/fishing/driving vehicle. But like I said, this vehicle isn't for me so I get very little say-so.
The front runner for Elena's choices is the Nissan Rogue. It drives very sporty, looks pretty sporty, and has enough room for all four of us. I was a little worried about having to fix a broken transmission, but they've upgraded the warranty to 140,000 miles, so it's a non-issue. The other nice thing is there are very few scheduled maintenance visits on the Rogue. With the Subi, we have to plunk down $400 every 6 months just for scheduled maintenance 😯
But, to complete the search, we'll have to test out the Toyota and Honda compact SUVs, even though I'm not thrilled about them...

Don't forget to drive the new Prius. Its bigger and more powerful than the last 3 generations. Did anyone google the Atkinson engine with its variable length connecting rod that performs the 4 cycles in one revolution? I agree that all the other hybrids don't make economic sense based on their gas only brothers, but if you look at the Prius price vs other cars its size, its very competitive. The first model was built 15 years ago so its not new technology. I've always wondered what kind of mileage it would have without the battery that depletes in 20 miles anyway. It surely helps around town, but on the highway its just extra weight. Maybe the problem is the tree-hugger status that comes with it, lack of gas guzzling horsepower and lack of joy from driving such a vanilla flavored car. How about a real station wagon like the Dodge Magnum.

Must be nice living 1000 yrs in the future...I'd drive that too.
Seriously though. My brother picked up a 65 pontiac catalina wagon and flat blacked it....I think it looks awesome. Personally I'd like a falcon wagon. And I'd rather drive a moped than a minivan just my 2 cents though.
Oh yeah and the dodge Magnum isn't bad....
