Thanks guys now I see it being useful to be mounted on the dash. I'm old school and don't do music on my phone or anything like that I may just have to give it a try
Old school? I was going to ask how others are mounting their eight track tape players. I actually had a four track tape player that was soon replaced by eight tracks. We had local stores where you could go to get tapes made. I think they were probably violating copyright laws but that was the 70's so, peace man.

Yeah I don't use my phone for music either. I guess I'm semi old school as I have collected CDs since the 80's and turned them into MP3 in the 2000s for my IPOD. Later put them on a USB and no worries about the cell phone battery, storage or exceeding the data plan.

After my last wheeling trip where I started using Gaia I found that I really wanted 2 visible devices, the mapping and handheld radio (when monitoring 2 frequencies I couldn't tell which one was being received) so I bit the bullet and bought the 67 designs. Wow, I wish I would have done it in the first place! I love that they have an adapter for the 1" RAM balls so I can still use my existing phone mount, looks like it is going to work great. Here are a couple pics.

Hey Jamie it looks good and clean. Where did you get them from? Is the hand held mount a standard mount?
I ordered directly from 67 Designs, the JK 2 ball kit, a universal phone mount and one of their adapter ends to adapt my RAM X-Grip mount. The handheld radio is being held by the 67 Designs universal phone mount, it does not fit as designed (the radio is to narrow so it can't clamp down on it) but I found if I put the belt clip on the radio that came with it I could clamp it from the bottom of the radio to the top of the belt clip. It is a bit of a hack and we will see how stable it is, but if it does not work I have some other ideas to make it work. I can show you at the meeting this week also.
