I've got a little birthday money to spend and am considering using it to purchase a small drill press. Does anyone have any experience using something like this?

Or maybe recommendations for better models?

Yeah I found that one online too. I kind of picked the Hitachi because I've got both 3/8" and 1/2" Hitachi drills and have been really happy with them. I also found a Craftsman drill press in the same price range with a 2/3 hp motor rather than 1/3 hp.

That's not a laser - that's a little lightbulb that blinks.

The slowest speed of 620 rpm is a little fast if you want to drill metal. I have a 15 speed Craftsman and sometimes the slowest speed of 250rpm is a little fast with the bigger drill bits.
Are you looking for a bench top model or would you consider a floor model? The reason I ask is I have 2 15" floor models. One Craftsman and one Rockwell. I have been thinking of selling one of them as I really don't need 2. They both have their good and bad points, but I am thinking of selling the Rockwell as it only goes down to 400 rpm.
If you are interested let me know as I just want double check with my neighbor before I sell it as he gave it to me for free and might not want me to sell it from under him.

I am in no rush to sell it, so take your time and get something that fits your space and needs. My neighbor gave me this one because it was taking up space in his shed and he just wants to get a bench top model to save some room in his garage. Though he hasn't gotten one yet, so if I find no use for this one he might like it back. Thats why I would like to check with him first since he was nice enough to just give me this one.
