Favorite Different Food on a BBQ

So everyone grills burgers, steak, chicken... What about the "different" stuff. I just grilled a bunch of asparagus. First time I tried it I thought it was a weird idea, but I really like it that way. I also like to make pizza (homemade crust and all) on the BBQ. Anybody get adventurous with your BBQ?

Do you just eat them plain or stuff them with something?

I've done my Chili rubbed apricot glazed pork tenderloin before. It takes too long though.

We often bake Pillsbury bisquits for breakfast on the grill. We've got a small double layer cookie sheet we keep in the rv that keeps the bottoms from burning. We also bake french fries. Another thing we do both camping and at home is wrap frozen corn, peas, or any kind of vegetable like that in foil with butter and garlic and throw it on the grill. We sometimes wrap up a whole onion in foil and bake it like a baked potato. One of my favorites is to wrap mushrooms in foil with garlic and butter and bake them to go with our steak. We do the same with cut up potatoes and they cook much faster than baking potatoes whole.

Do you put those on a hotdog bun? Talk about a veggie hotdog. lol

I'm not a big fan of asparagus, but Teddi's cousin grills them and they are GOOD! He puts them in olive oil & garlic for a short while before grilling.

We BBQ most all vegetables now. Corn, asparagus, squash, zucchini, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, mushroom, eggplant, onions, etc!!! Only way to cook them for us now!

Baked asparagus covered in olive oil with some parmesan cheese over the top is awesome!!!!!!

Usually we just eat them.

Sometimes we'll put a slice of mozzarella cheese between two half's and finish them off together. These are extra tasty with steak.

I've done bacon and I made my son and his friends "grill pacakes". Everyone thought they were great!

Just laying it over the grates or in a pan? Very cool.

I bet one of those mesh grates for grilling fish or vegetables would work great for grilled bacon.

I've done both direct grill across the grates and over a pan to catch the grease. The pan was cleaner, but the direct grill tasted the best.
