So was that 2 exactly, because I was hoping to gain at least 2.5
Wait a second. You said horsepower didn't you? I couldn't test horsepower since I have no horses. I did test it in my home lab for increased dogpower using my three dogs. Before the upgrade it was only 1 dogpower but afterward it was a full 3 dogpower. So the number I posted before, 2, was accurate but rounded off to the whole dog. I was unwilling to fractionalize my dogs to get a more accurate dogpower rating.

I've been using 3.5 for a while now this morning and it's noticeably faster 😀 . I have discovered one bug I'd like to see fixed. If you only have one tab open there's no "X" for that tab to allow you to close it without closing the entire browser or pressing control-w. I used that quite a bit and have been looking for a fix or a work-around.

Why would you just close the single tab without closing the browser anyway? If you're wanting to close the single tab that is open, the only thing you're going to be looking at is a blank page browser that is just sitting there hanging on to memory (looks like about 32 - 47MB too!)
I actually closed the tab there on the old (3.x) version of Firefox and started watching it in Task Manager for a minute. Sitting there like that, not only did the browser keep consuming memory (increasingly btw), it also periodically started consuming CPU time anywhere from 27-49%. I'd be happy to see that "feature" go away....
Out in the garage collecting parts....

I do that when I want to clear cookies, history, etc when going from one website to another. I don't do it often, but there are times when I want to go to a website and be certain they're not aware of where I came from.

Yeah, FF 3.5 does now too. I just like the blank tab for clearing things out before switching from non-private browsing to private browsing. I could just set a bookmark of about:blank to pull up a blank tab too. There are a few work-arounds, but I'm just a creature of habit.

ok, now that you've started on the easy stuff, its time to start looking at add-ons.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-.....ecommended
a couple of my favorites
Flash Block - allows you to whitelist sites that you allow flash content on. The rest show a button to play the flash.
IE tab, for those pesky websites that don't follow standards and only work well in IE,
NoScript - only allow javascript to run on sites that you choose to add to your whitelist.
View Cookies - see not only the cookies but what's inside of them, along with an easy way to delete cookies.
Closed Mondays.
