I finally broke down and bought a decent flashlight. I got a Streamlight Scorpion. It has Xenon bulb and is very, very bright. I also like the small size. The only thing I won't like is paying $10 for replacement batteries 🙄

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Does it use the CR123 batteries? If so don't buy them at the grocery store! Batterystation.com has their own brand and are pretty well regarded on candlepowerforums.com . http://www.batterystation.com/cr123a.htm

Here's a good source of info on batteries - http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/for ... ay.php?f=9

I am impressed how the brightness carries over a long distance.
Time to stock up on batteries for it. I think they won't last long.

Just be careful with those batteries. You don't want to use a combination of old or used batteries with new ones. Ideally you should use them from the same brand, batch and charge level. Read on that forum I posted above about "vent with flame". I'm fazing out my CR123 flashlights and have converted my Surefire and Surefire clone flashlights to use AA batteries, primarily the Sanyo Eneloop NIMH rechargeable AA batteries.

Edit) And don't buy cheap batteries off Ebay or Amazon with prices too good to believe. Many of them are fakes and have been the cause of the "vent with flame" situation.
