I am betting 4.50 to 4.75 a gallon, Over 5.00 for the good stuff and 5.25 to 5.50 for diesel..Gas in Tahoe is already over 4 a gallon and 4.50 for diesel..Sucks to be a diesel owner right now..Go to Sierra college at the forsale car lot on the weekends. I bet 70% of the trucks out there are diesel and they are selling for well below blue book.

Is now the time to snag a diesel for cheap - or keep waiting?

If you want one, now is the time. Dealers are hating life on their sales.

I was wondering the same thing. I have been tossing the idea around of getting a diesel PU. (That's all I need, another vehicle. )
I've been looking at a used 92 Chevy 1 ton diesel for $2,200. It needs some work, but the diesel is killing the guy.

For that price I'm ok even if I don't end up with a super beast of a diesel. But, it does need a lift pump. Any thoughts on how hard this is to deal with?
Just wondering why you want a diesel? Are you going to be pulling something with it?

I'm just looking at cheap trucks and it popped up. If I had a truck that would do it, I would consider pulling the 4Runner. Hammers... Dusy... Moab... the list goes on... 😀
now you need a trailer unless you're considering pullin the 4runner with a dolly.

This is going to start being a real PITA. We go through a tank of fuel in the Expedition every week. It took $97 to fill up yesterday. I go through about 17-19 gallons a week with the diesel so thats another $75 to $80.
So we are spending about $175 a week for fuel and thats not including going any where on the weekends,
Our neighbors just sold their Honda Civic this weekend. If we have know it was for sale we would have bought it. It sold in a matter of hours and they had like 15 calls. He complained that it took $45 to fill it up. I wish I had that problem
