Anyone have a set of Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches? I'd like to get a decent set of ratcheting wrenches. Their prices are good, their warranty is good, and they have good buzz on the internet. Just curious if anyone has any first hand experience.

I have a couple set of them and they work just fine. I prefer the ones with the switch on it for for going forward/reverse over the the wrenches you have to flip over to change directions.

I've got some gearwrench wrenches. They're vary handy, but I've had a few stop working. I got a couple replaced, but got tired of it.

I have a set of wrenches made by Husky from Home depot. They are the kind with the foreward and reverse lever. I really like them. Never had any problems. I'm not sure about gearwrench but I would suggest getting the foreward/ reverse lever, if avaliable.

This sounds like a "would not buy again" type review.

I'll get mine from Sears because I have a gift card, but I was comparing Craftsman vs. Gearwrench prices and they're not even in the same league. Especially becuase I was reading that a lot of the guts of several major brands are pretty much the same.

Thanks for the $0.02 on the lever.

It may have been my fault the wrenches stopped working. I may have used them for nuts that were too tight.

I have a few sets made by BluePoint (Snap-On) that have given me 10+ years of good service and I am not easy on my tools. They are the kind with the reversible switch.
I have no experience with the other brands.

I own three different brands of ratcheting wrenches. One is Gearwrench. I thinik I also have Craftsman, and one other brand.

I also had at least one gearwrench stop working, but it locked and now works like a regular wrench - so it's still usable.

The rest work fine.

This is what happened with my broken gearwrenches. I still use them they just don't rachet.

Don was generous enough to get me a 3/4" BluePoint ratchet wrench to replace the gearwrench one that wasn't working. The BluePoint wrench is NICE!

Check into the Husky. I haven't had any problems. I am also hard on my tools. Evey other wrench I have is craftsman. I have had problems with craftsman tools. They are both life time guarantee.

This is my final 2 1/4 cents.

I've heard bad things about people trying to get their warranty from Home Depot but I do have a gift card there too. I was trying to spend my Sears card after reading an article predicting they would go bankrupt in 2009.

I haven't tried to replace any husky tools yet. Thanks for the heads up. I will have to get my game face on 👿 if I ever have to warranty something. That is crazy about sears. I too have a gift card I will have to use quickly.

Thanks again for the info.....
