Isn't there a small hill, a fence and then your neighbors house up there??!! 😯

Well, at least it looks like fun.

My fun today was Joe helping me remove my PSC box for rebuilding, installing a new rack in the rear of the JK and fixing a bump stop problem that was causing some noise. Joe was a big help and he wouldn't even let me buy him lunch...

One week from today I will be a Happy Jeeper!

Nice. Are those authentic Red Rider BB guns?

Those are low powered Red Ryder BB guns. There is a hill about as tall as the boys, a fence with thick bushes above that, low sitting targets, and adult supervision. Trust me, it was a lot safer than what I used to do as a kid... mr-green

I even used to ride in the car without seatbelts and play in the streets after dark 😯

Looks like fun. It's good to see kids who aren't sheltered from firearms.

Sweet. I have a Red Ryder too! I find the key to shooting it is to aim waaaay high, but it's still a kick. Maybe we should have a BBQ/Horseshoe Tournament/Red Ryder target shoot. 😀

I don't have the RR BB gun, but I do have the model the RR was patterned after in it's later iterations.

I've never fired it (can you say that about a BB gun?) but I think a friendly competition with a less than totally accurate "shootin' arn" would be a hoot.

What is a "low powered" bb gun?

I've never heard of it before. Is it more kid friendly? Does FPS determine whether it's low power or high power?

It's a single pump as opposed to a multi-pump. It has a lower velocity than the higher end guns..about 250 fps as opposed to 650 fps.

I believe it has little pixies that run down the barrel and gently lob the BBs at the target. mr-green

I'd be in too, but I'm not sure Red Dog is the place to go anymore. They've closed a lot of the area and it's not uncommon to see a few calls a week into the Sheriff's dept about illegal shooting in the area. There's got to be somewhere that we're less likely to get harassed.

Whats a red dog run? A turkey shoot without the turkey? BB guns at the OK corral? I'd actually like to learn how to shoot a pistol from a professional, if we have one in the group.

Red Dog was a run the club did for several years that involved shooting. It was members only and the rules were pretty strict.

We don't have any "experts." Rob would come the closest to being an "expert" since he does it for a living and has a lot of hunting experience. Most of us are just plinkers
