hey all, I just got all of the details confirmed with C4W today and they have officially posted it on their website information page for WFF, as well as sending it out in the In Gear today too (Or at least set the details in for publishing)... So I wanted to relay the info here before the class fills up.
What: All Inclusive Ham Cram Class followed by the FCC Amateur Radio Technician License Exam
When: January 12th, 9am-5pm
Where: Grass Valley Fairgrounds, in the main big building that WFF is held in every year. Big Red Barn. Can't miss it.
Lunch will be provided (Pizza and Soda)
A Radio will be provided (Baofeng UV5R)
Your radio will come pre-programmed with over 100 NorCal repeaters and frequencies including MURS and GMURS (Race radio frequencies for KOH)
Your radio will come with a My Off Road Radio Repeater Reference Book so that you can look up what memory channel the repeater or frequency you want is on
Your radio will come with an additional, upgraded hi-gain whip antenna
FCC License Exam Fee is included
Minimum of 6 participants, Maximum of 20 to make sure that everyone gets every single question answered and understands the material before taking the License Exam.
$100 per person. You must be fully paid and registered before January 8th.

Can you do this without signing up for the winter fun fest run/event?
You say "your radio" does the cost of the class include a ham radio to keep also?
Yup. You can come for just the class, and not WFF.
And yes. You will leave with your very own radio for keepsies.
