I really think I am going to order this:

qid=1502831040&sr=8-11&keywords=ham+radio

2004 edition is much cheaper: http://product.half.ebay.com/H.....38;tg=info

Be cautious of the earlier editions.

The license runs on a pool of 426 questions. You are then tasked with answering a random 35 of them at your test location. The pool of 426 questions resets every 4 years. The current pool will be current until some time in 2018. Most books that are written for teaching ham radio base their information off of the current questions of that particular 4 years.

I am not saying that the 2004 edition would be a terrible option. If it actually teaches ham radio, then cool. If it teaches how to pass the test, then you will want to pass on it.

Hope that helps!

On a slightly related note, I have gotten my website up and running, just putting together the classes. I should be up and running in roughly a month on the classes.

good advice - my thinking is to use this book for general understanding of ham radio, generally. . . even so, I think it's worth the extra $10 to get the updated edition.

to pass the test, I plan to continue taking practice tests online. and also to take a (Tyler's) prep class.

how about a link to your website?

Structure and layout is in place, currently having a logo made and putting together the class software before I upload the class modules to the website.

Haha interesting... I didn't get it on my end. I will have to look into the program tomorrow. I noticed that one of my tests didn't go through either.
