Justin (or others), school me on effluent pumps.
My high water alarm went off.
Too much water usage or is our pump out?
If the pump works, will the light go off when the level drops?
How long should we wait to see if the level drops?
How much is it if we have to replace the pump?
Can we continue to use the system?
I used to wheel a lot. . .

How's the groundwater around your house right now?
Did you have the system pumped and inspected when you moved in? It's not a good sign that you're having trouble all ready.
Do you have an actual level indicator or just a light?
I have a friend that says his alarm goes off every month or two when it's wet outside. He keeps an eye on it and it usually goes down.
I'd use it gently, see if the light clears and call tomorrow if it doesn't.
I don't think you want to know the answer to your costs questions. Stuff like that is never cheap. Hopefully it's just high groundwater and it'll clear. If you have to have work done, you can usually save a few bucks by digging out the clean outs by yourself (assuming their buried and not already exposed).
I'm so glad I have a good old fashioned gravity system. Of course I don't know I have a problem until it backs up into the shower. :puke:

I turned everything off and then back on. The light and alarm is off now and the control box is humming likes it's working. I'm hoping it was just a tripped breaker and that will solve the problem.
The system is only 2 years old. It was inspected when we bought it. Hopefully it was just a fluke thing and not a costly repair. Thanks for the prompt reply 8)

No 👿
I can't even find the tank/pump. It's buried in the front yard somewhere. I'm going to have a repair guy come out on Monday. He can find it with a metal detector. I'm pretty sure I have a switch failing somewhere in the system. It is making my relay turn on and off rapidly. Then that overloads the relay, which shuts everything down. So for now...if it's yellow, let it mellow...if it's brown, flush it down 😯

Sounds like maybe a bad float switch.
