I'm trying to put some music on my kids' MP3 player.
I used the drag and drop...took the song from itunes and dragged it onto the removable drive:k.
The songs show up in the music folder for the device when using windows explorer.
The songs do NOT show up on the play list on the device.
Can't play the songs because they don't show up on the play list.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

It's not so much the itunes as it is the file format. itunes will also play mp3s.
Itunes plays MP3s? Mine required "automatic" conversion. I never knew the itunes app would play both. I'll have to try it with some older MP3 files I have.
The players won't however.

As far as I know. I think my itunes is set to rip any CDs I put in as mp3s. I'll check when I get home, but I'm 99% sure. My ipod also plays mp3s ( I think they all do). I think it's a problem going the other way. Non Apple products can't play their proprietary file format. I think that's where John is running into trouble.

There's a setting in there that you can change so that music you rip from CDs goes to MP3. That makes it more portable in my mind. I'll track it down and let you know where it is tonight. You're stuck with the iTunes format if you buy it from them.

You are correct John. itunes converted all my mp3 music to AAC format.
Now, I have to convert all that music back if I wanted to start using my Sansa players again. I downloaded a free converter but it's ssslllllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww.
Then, I bought a $12 converter and it was pathetically slow too. Now I just stay with Itunes.

I found something called iTunes Agent that lets you sync music between iTunes and "other" mp3 players. I've downloaded it but have to wait until Teddi gets home with her phone to try it out. You can read about it and/or download it here - http://ita.sourceforge.net/

I was at work. At least it wasn't like role call at Sac State one time. The instructor called out my name as "FredrickA Michelle". I didn't answer right away.
You could have pretended you were French.
It took me a while to figure out what the login name was. I kept reading it as Mich-elfa. 😀
