You can order a JLU or a JT with the diesel now for next year. It's only going to be offered with and automatic transmission. It will not be offered on the JL and there no plans at this time to offer it in the JL. According to Jeep USA.

Agree with the range comments. Over 30 mpg in the ram test trucks. Since it is a first year run I wouldnt hesitate in a JLU so long as you put less that 12k miles a year on it. That way even if the motor turns out to be a dud you can sell the Jeep before the warranty is up without risk if being upside down in the payments. 34k miles on the wife's 3.6 auto JLU and zero issues to date that weren't related to a phone update that the infotainment system needed a restart or two to deal with. Zero mechanical issues.

That's a lot of miles in a short time. I have 79,800 miles on my 04 TJ. At that rate Jessica will pass me in no time. Its not my daily driver and on top of that I have a three and a half mile commute to work so our vehicle last a long time.
You should be riding a bike. My 14 as 72k miles...
Um...what?
