👿 4 Wheel Parts won't warranty my wheel. They said it was abused by a rock. Now I'm not suprized they didn't warranty it, but I guess I was hoping for the best anyways. After all, they are a supplier of OFF ROAD products. Obviously their products won't stand up to off roading. I've been wheeling for about 10 years and I've ran many different brands and styles of wheels. This is the first time this has happened to one of my wheels. To make matters worse, the wheel was only a week old and this was its first run. Either it is a crappy product, or it was defective. Either way, I was hoping to find a company that would stand behind their products and not use the "abuse" excuse. I'm very glad I didn't end up buying my $400.00 tires from them. I would have been out a lot more money if something happened to them.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

What happened?
I peeled back the inner rim on the wheel. I think I remember you doing that to one of your wheels before.
Yep, I cracked off a section about 8" long on the inner bead on Barret Lake trail a few years back. That's pretty disappointing they wouldn't warranty it for you.

Shoot, if you have any pull with those guys, go ahead and try it. I'd be grateful.
I hear you about buying quality stuff. Even Elena was saying we should have just spent more and got Champion beadlocks again. With the cost of the replacement wheel I wouldn't have been that far off.

I told you!! I said buy two beadlocks and 2 crappy wheels and save for the other 2 beadlocks down the road. Cast Alloy wheels are the worst thing you could run on the rocks. They crack easy!!! Don't be surprised if this is not your last broke wheel..Steel or aluminum stand up far better to the rocks

Let me know when you want to sell your Procomps. I need a second set of wheels for a set of 37's for my Jeep that I can run for Deer season. Don't want to wear out my good tires!!

OK John.
I spoke with the Manager and he will help you with the wheel. I have gave him my Walker Evans Story. I believe he said he will warranty it for you. Please ask for Mark (the store manager) Specifically. When others ask you who you are, just identify yourself as John from the Gold Hills Posse Club. I suggest not providing any details about why our calling until Mark is on the phone.
You should be taken care of. Let me know what happens!

I don't think I would call it bad business practice, I think the clerk did the right thing. He took a photo and sent it to Procomp to see if they would warranty it, but they wouldn't. Not the clerks fault!!!!!!!!. There is not a store in the world that would have or should have warrantied that wheel. That was straight up rock damage, not manufacturer defect. Brad is in good terms with the manager and brings them a lot of business from the Posse and other friends. This is a case of doing a favor to someone who will promote your business and bring them more business. Procomp won't warranty that wheel, so I would bet Mark (4wheel parts) will just eat the cost of the wheel for future business. Don't blame the employee, he did the right thing. It amazes me that people think stores should warranty everything they sell. There are defects then there is straight up abuse beyond what an item was made for or should have been used for.
If Sue were to replace everything people brought back to her store that they abused and broke, she would go bankrupt. Does she help out some of her long term customers, "yes" but those are few and far between.

And how many tires did you get warrantied through Goodyear after even tougher abuse, beyond what the road hazard warranty would cover???
4-Wheel Parts has a road hazzard warranty that covers any abuse. I assume it wouldn't matter what you did to the tire short of getting in an accident...

I paid for a road hazard warranty on each tire. It is their choice to warranty the tire. Every time I took the tire in for warranty, it was a 50/50 chace they would deny me. I fully accept that and would buy a new tire if I had to and would not be mad or consider it bad business if they did deny me. I know cutting a sidewalk on a rock is not covered under the terms of the agreement.
